Help me out?

Hey, I'm new to these forums and to Jettas...I just had one pretty much handed to me. Its a '97 Jetta GL. Its in great condition except for a few scratches on the exterior. I'm looking to fix it up, you know better performance, faster. All that good stuff. I was wondering if you could all help me out real quick. I know these questions have probably been asked before, but I'm hopin you could still help me out. I know I need new Intake and exhaust....But I'm not sure what else. I'd like to change the dash lights to light up blue, instead of the green. So if anyone knows a site that explains that one, I would appreciate it. So if any of you out there can help me out that'd be great. Just post any ideas or suggestions here. Thanks
