Stigs got me thinking

I like the idea of a lightweight performance car. Reflecting on his love for small 240Z's with good power it made me think of the past I use to own an 87 MR2, and absolutely loved it. It had a taut suspension and somewhat of a comfy interior. The only thing it was missing was some power. I'm thinking that when I get well I will save up some money, and look for another MR2, but supercharged. Obviously it'll have alot of miles on it, as they are old now. I'm thinking that i'll add CAI, Belt to free up some psi, and a catback exhaust of some sort.

What are your guys thoughts on it?

Why not just get a shell and just swap a 3sgte into it? Or if you want to be even crazier, swap a V6 into it.

I live in California. We have alot more strict emissions then the other States.

Go for a MR2 turbo, you can have one for about $4000-7000 depending on condition. Turbo will net you more power me thinks... even if you 're looking for basic bolt ons.

Yeah, but it's also alot bigger and heavier. I use to own an 87. It made your 240 look big (Well maybe not big, but bigger). Besides, it was reliable, and I never see the MR2 Turbo going for less then $7K. They're ridiculously priced in California.

Then look outside of California, like Arizona... it's only a 5-6 hour drive. Not too far.

It's ridiculous in California to buy an import. Every import has some form of jacked up price. I mean i'd pay almost double for a Supra TT what I would for one out in Florida.

If only I could move out of here. Hopefully I can sometime in the future.

Move to Florida?
hell yes! that would rule.

I like those older MR2s, AW11 I belive is the right model code.

I wish I could move to Florida. Most places want to hire only a resident of Florida, not someone from out of State.

Buy a Supra in Florida, then bring it back to California... problem solved.

It'll cost you at the very most $800-1000 to ship the car door to door. Or you can drive it back... people buy cars on the other sides of the country all the time, especially through Ebay and highend autobrokers.

Exactly, I shipped my Stealth from Michigan to Utah for about $850. And I drove the GTC back to Utah from Ohio.

Dang I said MR2. Where did the Supra come from? Everybody and their mother wants me to get a Supra TT on this forum. It would be comedic if I ever got one. I'd do something different from everyone else if I got a Supra. I would keep the stock turbos and port and clip them.
