Well we had another exciting meeting this month. Lots of modeling eye candy to see.
Eric drove his Porsche 935 turbo up to the meeting and gave us all rides.

And some other gems were there. It looks like everyone is well on their way to being prepared for our "Porsches and Pony Cars" Southern Nats NNL show in 100 days or so.

Today was a great meeting. Everyone is preparing for the NNL that is just around the corner. Eric's 935 is quite the astounding model.

That would be Matt. He's had that kit for at least a week now. Its actually a pretty good kit. Not as bad as it looks in the box from what Matt explained.

66 pieces!!! there's like a straight up block for the engine, then the covers. Granted, there isn't much detail you see on the car. But the kit just seems bare:( Good jopb Matt:)

Don't let the parts count make you think its a bad kit, it's anything but. In many ways its an excellent kit. Many parts are consolidated on to one in this kit, and the detail is there you just need to paint it correctly to get it to look good.
Honestly, when I opened the box I was a bit disappointed. I thought there should be more parts. Then I cut parts of the tree and assembled 90% of the model without glue and was astonished at how well it all went together, and looked accurate to the real car.
My car has all the kit pieces, plus 20-30 pieces of CF, plus 10 or so PE parts, and scratchbuilt wing uprights, and it will have scratchbuilt side windows soon. I'm kind of peeved that some things weren't included that maybe should have been, but nothing that can't easily be solved by me, or aftermarket dealers. I'm sure we'll see PE sets and some resin parts available soon.
I would rather have a simpler kit with good crisp details where it matters most, than a Revell kit with 200 parts that may or may not fit together properly, and make you bang your head against the wall in frustration every step of the build.
Try picking up and building it, and see for yourself if you like the results. Low parts count doesn't mean it's bad, if it's engineered well.
I had a blast building it, and not because I'm a Corvette Racing nut. But because it went together well, and at the end of the day it looks and feels like the C6-R should. And at $11 a kit, I feel I got more than my moneys worth.

I do have the kit. Heh..Just haven't gottin to it yet. But thanks for the insight on it. $11!! That doesn't sound liek Steven's pricing! I do know what you mean tho about the low parts, but going together well. I got to see your thread and it does look about right the way it is. With the little details of course:)
