A/C maintanance

Is there anything i can do to make my a/c blow colder or harder? Like a filter change or some kind, or put on insulation? -96 bird 3.8-

Have the system pressure checked and leak tested. Should be around 30 psi on the low side, if its lower than that it doesn't get as cold as it could, if its over that it will cause the compressor to cycle on and off due to the system getting a high pressure cutoff.

It seems to run and work ok (well, as well as it can in the 104 oklahoma heat). I was just seeing if any one knew a trick that would help it further... like one of those "coozies" for the drier, tape up the hoses, that sort of thing.

I had a 1979 monte carlo that i got from a guy who works for hinton refrigeration here in oklahoma. He said that he bypassed the pressure safety switches and overcharged it. That thing blew colder than any AC ive ever seen. It would give you a nipper or two, and was so cold it caused pain. I wouldnt tell sombody to do that to any car but that car had one hell of an air conditioner.

Hmm, thats kinda interesting. I wonder how that works on other a/c systems. I dont know if i want to risk it though, sayins the prices of compressors and all that now days.
