So the light on the ceilling stays on when I`m driving and also when the car is not running. All doors are obviously closed. Maybe a connection is wrong in the door. Took the bulb out thinking it would shut the circuit and save the batterie but it still killed my batterie. Jump started the car, let the batterie recharge and took the bulb and the fuse 8 out to shut completely that circuit but it is still draining my batterie. What should I check? My batterie is probably due but it would still not change the electrical problem.

You're going to laugh, but spray some WD40 in the door latches.

For more details on what is probably going on, perform a search in the Taurus Forum using the "Search this Forum" link in the upper right of the Taurus forum page for the keywords "door switch." This is a pretty common occurance.

The Windstar van has the same problem. The interior light switch is in the door latches. WD-40 in the door latch will help clean the switches, for a while until it gums up again. Try a spray on electronics cleaner that's used for circuit boards, switches, poteniometers, etc. It drys clean and won't attract more crud like WD-40 might. Be careful though, some electronics cleaners will attack plastic. I found some at the local Radio Shack back before they became Cell-Phone and RC Toys Shack, and then went out of business.

I've had very good luck with Caig De-Oxit followed up with Caig Preserv-It. These products can usually be found at a GOOD electronics shop or by mail order from MCM Electronics or similar.
