I want to put in an aftermarket cd player. I have heard you have to take off the wood part on the bottom of the dash. Does it only have clips holding it in? Also then for the black part of the dash around the radio i guess you turn the vents one way untill the pop out (wondering on how to do that without it breaking?) Take out the screws and pop the rest of the dash out. I just want to make sure i know how to do this before i try it and break the dash up.

also i will probably put new speakers in later on so if you have any tips on how to remove the upper dash to get at the speakers up there and at the speakers in the back that would be great as i will be doing this up grade later on. thanks

Arent the front speakers in the door (not the dash)?

As far as removing the trim, yes you turn the vents and pull them stright out (screws behind the vent louvers). The trim is snapped in place, no fasteners that I can remember.

DINx2 radios fit nicely.

What exactly are DINx2 radios ? I was going towards an aftermarket pioneer or something of that sort. Also the speakers are in the dash up front not in the doors. thanks for the info.

DIN is the "standard" radio size. din x 2 (or referred as 2din) is double the size.

ie http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=2din&btnG=Search&sa=N&tab=wi

thanks, i don't think i will go with one but maybe if i can find one that isn't too expensive i will. Most likely i will get a pioneer and will have to find a dash kit that actually fits.
