Clicking & Squeeking

I have a 2002 Focus SE with a 5spd and the Zetec motor with about 71000km on it (44,000 mi), and sometimes when it is a bit colder out and i start the car i hear a clicking sound on the driverside of the engine, most of the time it clicks twice but has done it upto 7 or 8 times and i think it may have something to do with the starter motor, and also (only when cold) the powersteering pump makes a quiet squeeking sound (I'm not positive that it is the powersteering, but it comes from that area) if anyone could offer insight to thi situation that would be much appricated thanks in advance!
