Ok my third gear when i shift into I have to hold it in or else it wont stay in. I have to hold it until there is pressure on it like when I give it gas. It doesnt pop out or anything no problems in third gear it just wont stay in unless pressure is on it? What would that be and how much to fix it?

Sounds like your 3rd gear syncro is completely shot... Not sure how much it would cost to have fixed, but I can tell you that it involves pulling the whole tranny out to work on it.

Hmmm ok well then this is odd... Maybe its not a syncro at all... Have you checked your shifter cable bushings under the hood on the side of the tranny to make sure they haven't dry rotted or ripped and are just needing replaced?

Wait, so he told you it was in fact the shifter cable bushings? If thats the case buy some steel ones. I went from the rubber ones to the steel ones and it made the greatest difference in how presice it shifts.
