i have a 86 iroc i puld tpi engine out put 350 with eld carb cant get pump to work but ican get it to work by runnig ahot to the relay help me please

What else did you change besides removing the intake? Did you change the distributor to an HEI?

The fuel injection system is a high pressure system. A carb. uses low pressure..

ive got a holley reg inline to get it down to 5 psi now i can get it to come on but i have to jump it put it just runs will not stop

and yes ive took it to the block nothing on the old engine is left

If it were my project, I'd find wire from the ignition that was hot only when the key was on, and wire up a relay for the fuel pump. You did dis-able the in-tank pump, right?

no iwas wanting to use it idid it in a 1992 chevy truck it worked fine

That pump by itself is capable of putting out over 100psi. Using a carb. with this pressure is downright dangerous..Not to mention extremely hard on the factory pump..

its a return style regulator right? and you have a psi guage on it? what i did is i cut 2 of the wires back at the pump grounded the black one i think it was, and ran the grey to a hot under the dash that went on with ign. it works fine. got a steady 5 psi when in run position
