I drove home from work and she ran just fine. I made a stop and turned her off and she hasn't started since. I've replaces the fuel filter and pump to no avail. The pump seems to be working, but still not turning over. Any ideas??

Is the starter turning the motor?

Yes, it is trying to start, just not getting the fuel to do so. I am going to replace the other fuel pump and hopefully that will work. Thanks

Replace the ignition moduel. It can be tested at some auto parts stores. I have a 89 Bronco II and it did the same thing. It quit and would not restart. Was getting fuel but no spark. Pulled the moduel and had it tested. It was shot. Slapped in a new one and it been running great sense.

I think the 86 has a neutral safety switch on the transmission try putting in neutral instead of park as they have two setss of contacts. The 97 uses a DTR sensor. This is the same try putting in neutral. If you have a clutch it works off the clutch pedal.
The other posts had good information also.
Use a 12volt test light and put it on the coil negative if it blinks check module, auto zone and advanced check them free if it doesn't blink replace the pickup in the distributor.
I would advise motorcraft, echlin or standard as I have had problems with cheap modules once got 3 bad in a row. If didn't have my own tester I would have spent many dollars on parts trying to find the problem.
