Alright I have replaced the alternantor in my car 3 times and yesterday I posted about the AC and the Instrument cluster not working. Well this morning I go out and test the alternator. Only 12 volts at battery so alternator isn't working again. Is there a known problem that causes the alternator to just crap out like this?

Did add anything like a high demand sound system? Have you tested the output of the alternator at the alternator? Have you checked the fuses going to the alternator? Have you checked the wiring to the alternator, making sure all the connections are clean and secure? Poor connections can cause the alternator to work overtime. What kind of alternators are you buying?

Found the problem. My fuse box was fried. Suspect the blower motor on postion speed 4 it pulls like 34-40 amps the fuse is rated at 30 amps. Current draw should only be like 70-80% of the rated amperage. like 24 or 25 amps max. Put new fuse box in after wiring a 50 amp circuit breaker to the power wire that shorted to the box. Everything seems to work ok now. I don't use position 3 or 4 I am going to be getting a new blower and compare the amperage reading.
