lastnight l got my first speeding ticket by doin 67 on 45mph zone.. it was highway 59 and noone was on the road, 12.00am and l was coming back from work and the road was straight and l was on 5th gear and around 1600 rpm and listening radio. l wasnt fast but l was over the speedlimit. he cop told me that he is gonna make it 65 instead of 67 so l wouldnt be so much in trouble. and he gave me $75 ticket.. is this too much?
also he gave me some options:
- l can go and pay $75 and this gonna stay on my record for 12 months
-l can go and take driving safety class for 4 hours and pay $115 nonrefundable fee and it is gonna appera like l never got the ticket and l shouldnt get another ticket next 6 months, otherwise this one will come back to my record
-show up to court.
so l am thinking of taking the test but l dont know anything about these things.. as l said, this is my first ticket. l dont know much about this.. which option should l do? well l know l am not going to court, cuz l was over the speedlimit.
thanks guys..

do the class and be a good boy for 6 months. $75 is not bad. When I was 16 so like 9 years ago here in Oregon I got stopped doing 67 in a 55 and got a $104 dollar ticket...
Just take the class...

Id pay it, 75 bucks for doing more thwn 20mph over isnt half bad. I always thought 20+mph over was wreckless driving but i dunno.

yeah but if you pay 115 then its not on your record. If it goes on your record then insurance will go up... esp with a sports car...

yeah l am gonna take the class.. so this is gonna go away from my record permanently right? l mean when a cop tries to get in to my file, can he see that l got speeding ticket and l avoid it with class or they cant see nothing?

Traffic court all the way! There are several reasons this is your best option, trust me.

l hate mustangs speedometers.. f-bodies has a lit better readable speedometers..
cop told me, that the car is brand new and maybe you are not used to it.. l understand that.. l will not write down 22 miles over the sppeed limit, l will put 20mph over the speedlimit. and a better rate 75 bucks.
l gotta go to that school and get rid of this.. l hate this.. of l would be driving my firebird he wouldnt stop me maybe, just because l drive a mustang he stopped me..
and even he told me...'' l understand you drive a performance car, but we should at least try to keep our car on the speed limit. be safe''

You did get a nice cop, just pay the diversion, be a good boy and not have it go on your record.

How in the world do you get a 75 $ ticket for going 20 mph over the speed limit and I somehow get a 150 $ for going 15 mph over the speed limit in a truck?
Not even in the school zone.
That just amazes me to no end.

I just get a lawyer to take care of everything. No points, no insurance hike, no going to court. Just the new muffler violation fee.

The price of the ticket is all relevent to the state, and even county, you get it in. In Idaho most tickets are 53 dollars. Got one of thoes, but didn't deserve it and court was durring school.
75 dollars is nothing if you consider my 220 dollar ticket! I got it driving in Wyoming. Granted I deserved the ticket but 220 dollars is a steep fine!

Even if its on your record but not sent to your insurance who cares. Its the insurance I would be worried about. Your rates could go up for 3 years. Deff cost effective...lol. Trust me... Your doing the right thing...
