Hey all posting for a buddy. He has a 95 2wd Siverado long bed auto tranny. Engine I think is a 305. Trouble began after doing some towing down the highway. Now the truck has no second gear. It revs to like 4k in first then jumps to third. I am nt to familiar with GM stuff but I thought they only had two forward gears? I feel this is a valve body problem that could probably be fixed by replacing the valve body and putting in a new fluid and filter. Anybody had this problem before? I didn't have a chance to look at the fluid but I am sure it has plenty of cluth slime in it.

Does it shift into 4th? Both 2nd and 4th require the sun shell to be stopped via the 2-4 band. The intermediate servo piston applies pressure on the band in 2nd and the 4th apply piston applies pressure to the band in 4th.

Hey, another tranny guru 2KYukon.
I had one that had no 2/4 shift, but it shifted w/the wheels off the ground. I took out the servo pin and welded the tip to make it longer. I guess maybe the band was worn, that fixed the problem.
3rd gear pack is usually the weak link.

thanks for the help guys. I am not sure at 4th gear I will have to ask, but this is defintly a starting point!!! If 2-4 is screwed up do you think a band adjustment would do the trick?
