Yeah, I know..Engine and such..Seriously though, what's the difference between the LS and Z-34 front bumper cover?

My LS has FE1 suspension (soft touring), I think the LTZ has FE2 (sport touring)...somewhat firmer bushings and struts in that package, and possibly a progressive ratio steering gear, although I can't say for sure...have to drive them side by side to tell you...
Aside from the standard 3.8 and dual outlet exhaust, badging, body package and interior trim differences, that's about it, I think...

Well, I was ordering factory bumper covers today and they asked if it was an LS or Z-34.. I never noticed a difference between the two front-ends.....

Oh...I thought you were being sarcastic....like "besides the front bumper cover, what's different?"
The LTZ has the non-slotted radiator opening like the Monte Carlo encicled by a chrome band(can't call it a grille antmore...don't know what to call it....)and the LS has a chrome strip inlay all the way around the cover that I'm not sure the LTZ has...see on mine, it runs all the way around the whole car, doors and all? I think it's deleted on the LTZ..not sure...

Goddammit, somehow I've got LTZ stuck in my head this morning...you said Z-34...but I think the subtle trim differences apply there too...:banghead: sorry...

The chrome trim did appear deleted, as well as the grey in the upper grille hole under the chevrolet emblem. I ripped the grey off to find nice red paint underneath.. But there is another difference. I was looking at front bra's and noticed an LS and Z-34. And it stated they weren't interchangable.

Okay. I'll answer this question... A Z34 trimmed Monte Carlo and an LS lumina have few similarities. However a Z34 and a Lumina LTZ are quite similar. The Z34 and Lumina LTZ have the same front and rear fascias... (jeffco, I think that's the word you were looking for) The reason that an LS and Z34 bra are not interchangeable is because of the front "grille" The lumina LS still has one while the Z34 is missing the center "grille." I own a Lumina LTZ and I'm always describing it to people as a "four door monte carlo" because they are so similar. On another note, the Lumina LTZ has a 3.8L engine while the Monte has either a 3.4 or 3.8 (if I'm not mistaken). When you say "Z34", you've gotta be careful (especially in this forum) because a Z34 was also a trim package in the first generation lumina (up to 1994).

Ahh, I see. Here's my LS before I re-did it..The grilles are different, well what would be a grille behind the emblem. Mine looks like that now, exactly.

wow, I feel dumb. For whatever reason, I have been thinking Lumina LS and Z34 instead of Monte Carlo. OK. I see no difference, except for the chrome trim around your LS. I assume the engine is probably different too.

How much do those run, anyway? I've been considering finishing out my Faux LTZ scheme I've been slowly working towards...got the spoiler, blacked out the rear, need the nose and dual outlet pipes, that'd about do it, appearance wise...

Jeffco. Don't forget about the rims :) (and the 3.8L)...just kidding. Did you get my personal message a while back? I was wondering if you were making an LS into an LTZ, guess you answered my question in the quote. I've been fortunate to see some LTZ rims in the junkyard, you might get that lucky too. The exhaust should be fairly easy to find since some LS's came with them. The LS trim is much easier to find than the LTZ. Good Luck
