Nice dude! I've always been a big fan of the boats. I have one similar to your orange one. I've attached 10 in mounts off the top of it and mounted an airplane motor with a huge prop. When I get it running and give it all she's got it will propell itself very quickly accross grass. I've never got it to work in the water. The engine keeps dieing. I need something to help take the gas up to the enigne. The enigne cant produce that it needs alone.
You into planes?
You into planes?

Nope, not into planes. Maybe someday. Cars/trucks are next.. Gonna start with a electric Duratrax Evader
If you're stalling when you get it into water you're lean. My k&b is a pain in the ASS to tune (im currently getting a clutch kit for it, so it will be alot easier to tune).. Nitro boats are very finicky when it comes to tuning, but once you get them tuned right they are very fun.
By the way how are you launching your boat? are you simply setting it down in the water at idle? You need to 'thow' the boat froward and go WOT before it hits thee water, unles syou have a clutch where you can idle in the water.

I guess I didn't explint it very well.

The gas tank sat in the middle of the boat. At the time I didn't have any counter weights. The hose was rather long and the preasure from the exhaust couldn't keep enough fuel in the line to keep the thing running. It was able to suck up enough gas to run for a few seconds to push it accross my grass and accross a pool but that was it. It has TONS of power and could have been fun. But I got married and this got put on the back burner. I've taken parts off it even, but I think I'll be getting it running here soon.

wow that's awesome man! You can probably buy a fuel pump (or atleast a water pump for watercooled motors and make it so it can be used fro nitro).

Well You have inspired me. I just finished putting it all back together. I built new mounts, re ran the fuel lines and made some ajustments to the way the servos work to make the whole thing run smooth.

I solved the fuel delivery problem by mounting the tank just behind engine. Hopefully it dosent explode! It all works great and tonight I'll be taking it out for fun!
My stearing system is a bit primative but it will work.

Now THAT is cool!.. You shouldn't have any trouble with it 'exploding' but damn that is cool!
What size is that motor? looks prety big.. around a .60 or so?
i got a little progress, yea it looks terrible right now but here's a rough 'in progress' shot of the orange boat.

The engine is a 65! Lots of power.
I took it out for a short trip. Everything worked great on it. Although it seamed a little light. I'm going to have to balance everything out if I want to make it go much faster then I didn tonight, which was about 1/4 open. I took it to about 1/2 for a split second and man it about took off! It cranked to the side so I cut the throttle and let it coast back to me. It's top heavy but if I balance it out I shouldn't have much more of a problem. But all in all a sucessful launch and return. Lots of spectators.

Hey! I'm thinking of putting a real rudder on here. Can you post a picture of what the back of your blue one looks like?
