The problem just popped up today. I have everything factory from the car. I haven't even had to replace to lights on the car. This is the first issue I have had with this car ever.
Heres the problem, I ran to the store, parked got out of the car. Went in to the store no more then 5-10mins came out went to start the car notta. No lights came on, no gauges nothing. So I popped the hood, wiggle the postive cable around a bit. Go back inside the car, and I turn the key. Get faint gauges, still wont start. Wiggle the cable some more rinse and repeat. Finally the car starts. But, when the lights are not on there is a clicking sound, and the lights kinda flicker with it. The Theft System light is on (dont have one??) and is flashing, the service engine light and air bag light is on as well but dont flicker. Where the miles are shown it says error now too. The heat gauge jumps from 0 to 210 constantly. As far as I can tell the gas and the speed are fine. But no dash board lights, or heating a/c lights either. My a/c doesn't work now either??
Has anyone had this problem? or something like it. I read stuff sorta like this that it might be the rl fuse or the malfunction switch but those ones didn't do all the stuff mine is doing.

how old is the battry? you wiggled the wire so it must be loose ? check the connections positive and neg to be sure things are tight and CLEAN ,no corrosion .start with this it doesn`t cost a nickle . If that ain`t it then have battery and alternator tested

well the battery is about 2yrs old maybe 3. I fixed the problem I guess...I just removed all the fuses and when I got to the consel lights it made a click noise. Reinserted the fuses, started the car and its fine now. Haven't had problems since, so we'll hope for the best.

I've had similar problems. I have a 99 and when the dash lights up it's usually bad news. I've had and alternator go bad and another time had a fuel pump go bad...each time random indicator lights came on. The time it was my alternator I didn't make it much farther than 5-10 miles before it puked on me after all of these random lights came on. When it was the fuel pump I didn't make it more than 2 miles but the car started running rough, too. When they come on it's a good idea to get it to a Pep Boys or an Auto Zone, don't shut it off, and have them read the trouble code. They can usually diagnose it right there.
Good luck
