Jekyl finally getting some mods ...

Wow, not sure when the last time I was that actually modified Jekyl or posted about the car, but now is the time. I took the day off of work today to get some things done around the house and it ended up taking me most of the day to get Jekyl prepped for hillclimb racing. :evillol:

Basically all you need to get a car Hillcimb ready is a rollbar, fire extinguisher and 5-point harness. I had an extinguisher and extra harness alying around so all that was needed was a rollbar and padding. It took just over 5 hours to prep the car, but it would have taken longer if I took my time and did things a little "prettier."

I am pleased to announce that Spiral Moons Studio (http://www.spiralmoons.com/) sponsored a rollbar for Jekyl! A big thanks to everyone that bought jewelry from Spiral Moons up at the big Kingston MR2 meet.

This is the standard Autopower Race Roll bar which is SCCA Time Trials legal.
Expect to see Jekyl coming to a hillclimb near you (depending on where you live!) ;)

Costs for getting your car hillclimb ready:
$300 - Roll bar
$100 - harness
#25 - fire extinguisher

nice. Is Jekyl still basically at stock power levels, it's been so long since the car has been mentioned lol.

Jekyl is a non-turbo MR2 with the 2.2L engine.
It has a cone filter and custom exhaust. That's it for power mods.

It does have KVR Cross-drilled rotors, H&R springs and Tokiko 5-way struts, Enkei RSE rims (16" F and 17" R) and rides on Falken GRBs. It has a 6-piece Aeroware body kit and TRD short shifter.

Oh, can't forget the clear corners

Very nice. So are you going to have Jekyl for hillclimbs and Hyde for drag racing? I think it would be awesome if Jekyl got a V6.

Hyde will always be the primiary race car for all venues.

Jekyl has been prepped for the hillclimbs:
(1) as a back up car in case Hyde can make an event for some reason.
(2) David Hawkins, owner of twosrus.com and president of Club MR2, will be piloting Jekyl at a couple different hillclimbs.

It will finally be Jekyl Hyde Racing.

Other than the necessary cash, would you turn Hyde into a dedicated drag racing car (running well into the 9s) and V6SC Jekyl and use it for track and hillclimbs and auto-x?

Hyde will never be a dedicated drag car. The intent with that car has always been totoal performance. Hyde could go 9s the way it sits if we added "the button."

Given enough money, I would have both J&H's performance maxed out, but in very different ways.

Hyde has his last "big round" of mods done within the next 60 days or so.
That being said, that car will be "done." There is a possiblity that there is a one incredibly huge project left for Hyde, but that is sometime away as the price tag would be well above $5000 and I am fresh out of cash.
