Evaporator removal ! HELP!

I've downloaded dozens of instructions which are awesome. Only problem is I'm not a mechanic and don't know what things like pod switch bezels or "A" post trim panels, Vacuum harness connectors,junction blocks at right cowl side panel, or what the hell a windshield fence is among other items that are described in what otherwise seems like a very detailed list of instructions.
I've got tons of .jpgs of what the dash looks like taken apart, and I've gotten as far as removing most if not all of the dash trim, but still can't seem to get the dash out so that I can inspect the evaporator. Does anybody have any other tips or instructions that would help a very quick learning eager DIY kinda guy??

what does the ininstructions say needs to be removed ? why does it need replacing, leaking ? make sure all refrigerant is recovered before you crack lines open.
