I have 1988 Dodge that will not start if you disconnect the battery and reconnect it it will start and run. If you shut it off and restart it will start and run but if you don't restart asap it will not restart until you disconnect the battery. It seems to be running rich so maybe ecm?? Help :banghead:

the first thing I would check out would be the battery. IT mighta gone bad and by disconnecting it and reconnecting it it finds a good cell in the battery and starts. And starting right after you shut off would be b/c it was just charged good and will hold the charge only a little bit of time. Just sounds like there might be a bad cell in the battery or soemthing. You could take it to autozone or advance auto parts and have your battery checked out for free.

I have replaced battery still same problem if it sits for 1 min. it will not start unless i disconnect the battery just for a second then it will start every time until it's off for over a min. When I reconnect the battery I can hear something moving at the throttle body.

ok well then how about checking out your "idle speed control actuator"?
that part should be bolted to the side of your throttle body and could be resetting itself when you hook your battery back up.
