when you say the compressor is on, I assume you mean the clutch is engaged. Do you see condensation on the line running from the compressor to the evap core? If not then you have a blockage in the A/C system. Has your car been converted to R-134a, or are you still running R-12? The temperature actuator is a small triangular shaped electric motor mounted to the passenger side of the center console under the dash, and is AC Delco part# 15-71846 if it is what you need.

The Temperature door is driven by a small motor called an actuator. Sounds like your actuator has given up.

im having a similar problem with my 92 lumina (3.1L). the AC seems to work better on AC instead of MAX which to me seems odd. aswell it does not do a very good job of cooling down the car. the air is cool but it is almost as if its just venting outside air in.

my question is: where is the AC compressor on the 92 lumina? to me it looks like its tucked down on the right side of the car (left if your looking at it from the front) and i really hope thats not it because changing it doesent look very fun. a discription of where it is would help. pic would be better. thanks.

Do you mean it has better airflow from the vents on AC than MAX? If so, look on the passengers floor area where the recirculate intake is; you'll probably find a plastic bag or something blocking it.

The A/C compressor is down low on the passengers' side of the car, on the front of the engine.
