Dome Light stays on - '98 Blazer

My dome light stays on after the rear hatch is closed, light works ok with the doors though. Does anyone know where the switch is located for the rear hatch and if there is also a relay that can be faulty. The location of both switch and relay would be helpful to know,,,thanks

I had the same problem with an easy fix, there is a plastic push button that disconnects the light switch when closed. If slammed too hard the plastic will break and push thru the barrel of the unit keeping the light on. Disconnect the plug at the back (may require pulling the plastic door guard off) and replace the small switch.

It's on the top part of the hatch to the right of the handle. Looks like a push button and the glass hits it and turns the light off. Take a close look and depress it with your thumb, it may push right thru the back of the peice. That's what happened to me anyhow.....
