Hi-- We own an 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.3 V-6 engine and all the acsessories. It has Automatic Transmission, ABS, etc. Our Van has 110,000 miles on it. We have changed the oil every 3,000 miles. We bought it used in 1997 with 16,000 miles on it. In the past year or so our ENGINE LIGHT has come on several times. The Car Dealer we bought it from is 2 hours away here in New Hampshire, so we try to get our service done locally even though our local Dodge Dealer is the biggest rip-off ever, and their Technicians are not very "SKILLED" in their jobs!! Any-Ways! , When-ever our Engine light comes on, it happens because of a "loose-gas-cap". I never would have believed it, but whenever the wife fills up the van, soon after--- the "CHECK-ENGINE" light comes on! Apparently the gas cap needs to be put back on really TIGHT, or you will get this error code up on the dash. I may be totally wrong on this-- but give it a try and I hope this helps you out!! Good Luck! dooski--

Evaporative Purge Flow Monitor Failure. Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected during evaporative emission sytem operation Sounds as if your cannister purge valve is bad.

Should be in engine compartment on passenger side near wiper fluid reservoir and next to the transmission control module (that metal box bolted to the fender). The cannister valve is black plastic and with engine running it MAY clikck on and off (mine does and it souunds like the belt tensioner pulley is bad).

The one poster is correct you will throw a check engine if you do not tighten the gas cap tight enough . you can tell when it is tight enough , it will click once and then its tight enough .
