I have pics of when i first swapped out the clips and before bondo, evenbefore I shaved anything. If you want the pictures I will upload them but I felt posting the current state is more appropriate. I am going all out on this truck, and I am planning on making a trailer for it to be pulled by another project underwraps.

NNL East is a model show, but if you do a google search you can find pictures from the past shows.

Heres another update, I made the airbags, finsihed the 4-link, primed and did the final body work on the body, and started the interior. The dash is all styrene and the bondo is just to smooth out low spots and little crevices, you will be able to see what I am talking about once I sand it down. There will also be a custom center console that will go back to the back seat and splt off into two 12 inch subs and the center will ahve 2 reverse subs. Hard to explain, but if you ever seen an issue of mini truckin you know what I'm talking about. Here are the pics, let me know what you think.

Here's another update. Primered the whole body, still have some issues where the front clip is blended to the body to work out, and there was a small pin hole in the corner of the dash, cant really see it in pics, but it is there. Also the rain gutters need to be reshaved as I forgot to glaze over them letting the tiny air bubbles in the bondo show through in primer. These problems will most likely be fixed tomorrow and I would like to have it in primer again by tomorrow night. I also added a license plate box into the roll pan to break up the smooth look a bit, and I think it helped it a lot. I took pics next to my first gen to show the size difference. Next thing to do is build a center console, build the air ride components, build mounts for all the air ride components, and make the front half of the frame. Here are the pics...

Great modeling! Not much my cup of tea, but I can see you're doing pretty well, nice blending in of those parts and it just looks very clean already!

Keep it ^.

Wow great model, lol i am building one as well with a lot of similarities i might add. I have been working on it for a while but still havnt gotten around to posting up the WIP thread. Oh well even with similarities they will hopefully be very different, but they are both coming out great so far!
Hooray for custom truck ethusiastss! Woot

Nice to see some familar faces, and people that even remember me, since this is like my 3rd username here now lol I had sk8er6811 and IntegraTypeR186 but now its this and I'm sticking with it.... hopefully:lol:

Verbal update as I didnt get a chance to take new pics. I finished the center console up, did all the final details on the dash, and cleaned up the body a bit. I also constructed a bed cover and the mounts so it sits flush with the top of the bed. The color has also been chosen, it is a nail polish but it should look very nice if the body is as straight as I hope to get it. It is midnight blue from sinful colors. I will get some pics of my updates and the pics of the color up sometime tomorrow, and hopefully make some progress on the front half of the frame.

This is looking pretty cool. I think the Escalade front end is a great idea and you've done it well. It's probably harder in 1:25 than 1:1, too :p

Here are some pics of the color I chose for this build. It is very hard to capture the true color of this, but I think you will be able to get a general idea for it. It has a ton of really small metal flake in it and in the right light it looks really nice. Here are the pics.

Well I finally got the color mixed with the thinner and it is ready to be sprayed, I just need to wait for the primer to dry on the interior pieces and bed cover, then I will get some pics of everything tonight. The body had a few more imperfections which I took care of but the body has not been re-primered yet. I will probably get the body primered tonight after I get home from work. I will also get pics once I get home from work. Sorry about the lack of pics lately, just been busy lol

you could probably do a "cut 'n' shut" job where you take the kit, remove the extra part of the cab and glue the two halves together.

i can probably make a tutorial if you want.

Finally some pics for you guys!!! :bananasmi Pics consist of interior primered, body primered, before I sanded out the the imperfections (which still need to be taken care of), and some pics of my freshly painted dash and center console. The color on the dash and console is also the body color I plan on using. :evillol:

The one in the picture he posted, please try to keep this on-topic

he said his had a different front end. to me that said he may have the previous generation, or a different bodykit, well i'm sure he's aware of scratchbuilding for the bodykit if that's the case.

he also said "so i can build it like my truck should be done" that indicated his isn't complete yet, it's possible that the truck he pictured wasn't his, and was an example of one similar.

so basically, don't be so rude. and don't jump to assumptions.

What kind of glue did you use to hold the frame and rear suspension together? This truck is sick, I love it.

SidewayzS15
08-26-2006, 02:26 AM
It's liquid crazy glue, in the skinny tube with the plastic case, used sparingly it dries quick, then you can go back and make sure its in there good later. You can probably see it in the background of some of the earlier pics.

Here, i'll do us all a favor and end the confusion:

Jetts has an 03 chevy, the front of the model being
discussed is an escalade, jetts has changed nothing
other than wheels and height, visually that is, so he
means he wants a model of his generation, the current
one, not the last gen, like this model.
