I just bought a 2000 Metro 1.3L fuel injected motor very reasonable.
I have a '96 Metro that of course has a carburated motor and I would like to know what I need to put this fuel injected motor in my '96.
Thanks

GeoZuki and Crvette ... try to be nice!
Between these two characters, they have replaced or swapped or ... just about everything you can do with Geo engines. They will reply on this, I am sure. Just wait. By the way, the 1996 geo is injected, it is called TBI or Throttle Body Injection, I guess it could be mistaken for a carbureted version.
Good Luck!:evillol:

Lol, ok, i'll behave myself :smokin: . And yes, it is fuel injected. It sprays fuel right on the butterfly valve via a single fuel injector. The 2000 just has an Multi Point Fuel Injection setup and a bottle style air intake plenum. The 2000 is much better for performance, but they both get about the same mileage.

um my 94 is fuel injected. 89 up fuel injection.
i have two cars with tbi both with 2 injectors. the suzuki version uses two injectors going to one bank assumedly one is low throttle one is high. like double barrel carburator.
my 89 dodge van has 2 injectors one for each side of the v8.
Ok check this out. I have long contemplated this. having 3 mpfi on 3 cylinders should actually be less effecient than 2 injectors through one throttle body. I mean think about it, one more injector but they all run at one jet size. I look at the chiltons manual i have and they show the same hp....

I'd rather have MPFI. The fuel doesn't pool up/fall out like it may do with throttlebody. I bet the flow rate on those 2 TBI injectors is higher than those 3 MPFI's. MPFI is more efficient..

think we got off the topic, your motor has a throttle body injector. the 2000 may have mpfi but the interchange book shows the head is different than the 96 so you can't put your intake on it and run it. you would probably have to swap the wiring out of the 2000 car to get it to work in your. sounds like a lot of work to me.
