Front bumper area. and rear tire. Hold the drawing up to a mirror, and you will see the problems.

errm.. the front bumper looks out of proportion with the rest of the body but looks quite kool.:sunglasse Its a good angle , i find it hard to do that. By the way, what is it based on(?) cuz it looks like a mustang.

Your windshield is way too short width-wise when you compare it to the front of the car.

fix the drawing before you start coloring it.

I really hope you haven't started rendering the front yet because i figured out what's wrong. Alex already pointed out the vanishing point problem with the lower front lip, but this diagram shows everything... either shorten the left side of the front bumper or widen the windshield, or move all the front bumper parts on the right side to the left. The windshield thing is probably easier and it'll make the car look wider and more aggressive

1. Notice the difference in length between the 2 hoodlines

2. solutions?

sorry for the ghettoness of the diagrams, but you get the idea :)

entire car is too narrow. it's as if the car is for only i person in the front, and one in the back, like a motorcycle.

look at the windshield. from the 3/4 angle you have chosen to represent the perspective, the windshield is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet across. do you see that?

and front face area of car, although a little wider (and therefore off in proportion to the windshield), is too tall and fat. the car needs some sheetmetal spliced into it's middle. and it's front fascia made thinner, less tall.

you are trying to shortcut to finishing the drawing by rendering it with reflections and texture. and i understand your ambitions. so finish it the best you can. then move on to another one taking my advice.

get a model of a car and carefully look at it like you never have before. study how changing your angle of viewing the car model affects the windshield and front hood and fascia area. study life to then break the rules later. but first you must learn some rules. your ellipses are actually pretty good, though.

Tsk tsk, Bonz, no ghetto diagram? Shame on you...

Hah, but seriously, he's right, it's too narrow. I just noticed that now... ...after reading Bonz's post... ...'TIS MY IDEA NOW! :p
