Sticky Driver's Side Door Lock...

....This just started happening in the past day or so. The remote for my 1996 JGC will not lock or unlock the door on my driver's side (All others work). However, it does appear that the motor insode the door is operating, just the latch is sticky and it cannot drive the latch back and forth.

Anyone got a good solution for cleaning or lubricating the latch? Am I going to have to take the door panel off to do it or can I spray something in around it without screwing anything up royally? I'd really rather avoid taking the panel off if possible, just for simplicity sake....
