repetitive chirping sound

I have been hearing an interrmitent, soft chirping/swishing sound from time to time for 6 months coming from "up front." It now occurs all the time and is a bit louder, corresponding to car speed, not engine speed. I'm guessing some kind of bearing or the odometer cable.

Any suggestions of how to identify or fix it?

Hello

It could be your speed sensor for the cruise contoll. Try looking for a round cylinder in line with the spedo. cable. Unscrew the connection and see if your noise goes away. Of course the spedo won't work if that's disconnected. I am not sure if your car has that set up but it's worth a try. It could also be a dry spedo. cable. If you can get it apart, lube it with white lithium grease.
