Both are considered top of the line cars. The differences between the two is really size and styling. Both cars have the same chassis and engines and have the Bose 4.0 425 watt stereo with 6 disc cd changer.
The STS will handle and accelerate slightly faster than the DTS due to less weight. So it really depends on which car appeals to you more!

i was doing some research, sts is 4095 lb and dts is 4044 lb, both have 295hp, so why the hell does STS run a 1/4 mile in 14.5, and dts in 15.8?
and it's also hard to belive that the biger DTS weighs less the the STS, did i get my facts wrong?

My book says 4,001 lbs for the STS and 4,047 for the DTS. So the DTS is slightly heavier.

but the weight diffrence does not explain the huge performance diffrence

Sorry, I don't have an exact answer! No two cars ever run exactly the same anyways! It could be something as small as suspension set up, the weight distribution to the tires when it launches, aerodynamics, or many other factors.
Either way, if you're out to drag race a Cadillac, a FWD one isn't the way to go! Buy yourself a good used 2004 or so CTS-V. :)

Go with your gut reaction, they are basically the same mechanicaly, I also refer to a website called "car survey.org" it has comments from actual owners of cars, it's a good source.
