Hello, I was wondering the difference between the 5th Generation Preludes.
I know 97-98 is not leather interior, and 99+ is leather.
but when it comes to performance is there much difference?
Because i'm in the pediciment of changing from my 4th generation for a 5th generation, but I'm not sure which is a better buy.
I'm forced to choose a 1998 SH or 2000 SH, It's the same milage but the 00' model costs apprx. $2500 more.
I'm just wondering if it's worth paying the extra $2000-$3000 for a vehicle which is 2 years newer.
Thanks...

hey guys,
any info would help me greatly...
Does is it really worth the extra $3000 for 2 years newer and leather seats?

I say no. Hondas are really good, no matter what year (pretty much) and a 2 year difference isnt that much IMO. I personnally like the looks of the 5th gen though.

There is little to no difference between the 5th generation Preludes. Performance is all the same on the Preludes with the base being slightly faster due to not haveing the ATTS. I think you should just get the 2000 because its newer and in the long run its going to have a longer resell value.

Why are you forced to get the SH. I wish you luck. I've heard of some people having problems with the ATTS messing up. But thats probably because the previous owners don't push it hard enough to make the ATTS kick in. :2cents:

The 99+ doesnt have leather standard. It was an option
The differences between the two eras are: different grill, seat fabric different, 99+ had "5hp increase" and color options differed.
If it were me id take the 2000 becuase I love the honeycomb grill, and if a 99+ is in the same condition/milage as a 97-98 the 99+ will always be worth more.
