W.i.p. Rx-7 Rz

Just a simple OOB build. Light Gun Metal is my base coat and Mica Blue will be going over that. I'm really just testing this color combination for when I find another one of AMT's 1970.5 Camaro Z/28 kits, which seem so hard to find.

And now some color on the body. Unpolished. 2 mist coats, a medium coat and a wet coat. For some reason, these pictures aren't capturing the color well, I'll go out and play with it some more, still have to learn all these fancy features on my camera.

You forgot to sand down the mold lines. This is a common mistake among novice builders. Very nice paint though. Nice job!

Forgot to, too lazy, whatever. I had forgotten that they were still on there till I had already laid down the color.

Trying to make up my mind on some carbon fiber. I know I am going to make the hood CF, but do I want to make the headlight covers too? I will probably make the spoiler CF too, atleast the midsection.

Just a CF hood, it looks better. Did you already CF those parts, or is it some kind of photo trick?

+1 on just the hood for CF. :D

If the headlights lined up with the hood, I'd say do them too. But since they don't line up with the hood on the FD I say just do the hood.

That's what I was thinking. The body was clearcoated today, so I'll give it a while to harden and fully dry. During that time I'll be working on the interior and chassis. Probably do a minor modification with the exhaust, but that'll be the extent of customizing.

Wooww.. is looking great. Wonderfull start!
