i have an alpine system. not sure what model it is. the past few weeks it just goes off. no one is messing with it and its not very sensitive, it only goes off when a door is opened. any thoughts? and sometimes when i disengauge it, it has auto-unlock, it gives an extra chirp. instead of the regualr bwhap bwhap it goes bwhap bwhap bwha. ???

one of the triggers could have a bad wire, loose hoodpin switch, loose door hinge... or maybe its just a little more sensative than you thought.
either way, just take it back to where you got it installed. any reputable place should have given you a lifetime warrenty on the installation.

On my alarm, when I disarm it, it'll beep twice. If my alarm has gone off since I armed it, it will beep three times to let me know that it was triggered.

it's almost assuredly a bad sensor or loose sensor wire

Ok guys lets remember what kind of cars we drive say it with me HONDA. Notorious like biggie smalls for having bad door triggers. My car does it from time to time. I just replaced it the other day. check and see if your domelight comes on sometimes if the door is shut. just tap the door. If it is coming on yank the door trigger (1 screw) and clean the contacts with an emory board or sandpaper (they get rusty) and reinstall. Hopefully that will fix your problem. BUT if the spring is just beat and has no power left in it like mine was you should replace the trigger.
hope this helps

he is not talking about the door in specific ........ when you OPEN (or close) the door, there is a switch you activate that turns on thwe dome light. Those same switches are also hooked to the alarm, so it will sound off if someone opens a door when the alarm is set.
