Is it true ???

I own a '93 Mitsu 3000GT and someone told me I should get a new Belt(I forget exactly which one) every 60,000 miles or it would total out my engine. Can someone tell me what belt he ment and if this is true?? Thank you.

They are talking about the timing belt and 60k service. If the 60k service is not performed then things could happen like the timing belt breaking, the tensioner failing, or the water pump leaking and causing the belt to slip whih would result in possibly bent valves all the way up to destroyed pistons from the valves making contact.
