Here is a story that was in our local paper yesterday that I found interesting:
Study Finds Link Between Lungs, Urinal Deoderant
Those deoderant blocks hung in workplace bathrooms may do more than mask odors. They may harm people's lungs.
Researchers at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences found people with elevated levels of 1,4 dichlorobenzene, once common to such air fresheners, were more likely to have impaired lung functions.
A trade group said companies that produce urinal blocks already are abandoning 1,4 dichlorobenzene. "To a large extent it's irrelevant to today's products," the group said, with one exception being some air fresheners hung from rear view mirrors.
The NIEHS says the chemical also can be present in some mothball products.
Looks like I'm holding my breath the next time I need to use a public restroom :icon16: .

Well no kidding, the smell of those things is so ridiculously strong I'm not surprised stuff is getting into our lungs.

Surely there is something i use to mask odors in ladies rooms. Clearly there are no urinal cakes, but there's gotta be somethin

Yea, usually they could be on the wall close to the ceiling or in the toilets themselves.

I Just hold my breath now whenever I pee in a public restroom. I'm convinced that the smell of everyones pee will give us all cancer! I mean just smell it! It's nasty!

lung cancer due to urinal cakes is the last thing I'm worrying about catching when I enter a public bathroom.

Fun fact: The seats at the fleet center in Boston are usually cracked or chipped, and i wouldnt be surprised what the homeless people do to them. yay for diseases.

yeah the guy who stands nexts to you and looks at your crotch is scarier than that............:werd: im more worried about that guy grabbing my johnson or something. so getting lung cancer in the public bathroom is at the bottom of the worry list.:lol:
