Paypal users watch out - phishing scam.

So I got this email this morning:

Looks pretty legit huh? Except the login address is

http://secure.dynalias.com/www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr.php?cmd=_login-run
DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK

and the email is from [email protected]

What makes me laugh is the login link at the bottom is the legit paypal link (www.paypal etc) AND in the right hand side of the email they've got the safety warning:

Make sure you never provide your password to fraudulent websites: To safely and securely access the PayPal website or your account, be sure to verify the link found in the address bar. This must be https://www.paypal.com/.

So if you're vigilant you can easily catch this thing. I thought it was a bit suspect, and realised what was going on when I saw the link address. Didn't want to risk clicking on it either.

Been using Paypal a lot recently so maybe that's how my email popped up.

Be weary people.

PS: This was sent to my login address, but NOT my primary Paypal address, so it's pretty obvious it's a phishing scam.

i dont even check my email...stuf fin my junk mail folder is deleted before i check it. but thanks anyhow! whenever i do, i know to delete it.

Another way to tell the difference is that Paypal would never send it to "Dear Paypal user". They always use your first and last name.

Looks legit, I would go for it.

I get these quite a bit in my Inbox. I usually forward them to [email protected] (don't know if it does any good.) Isn't the Paypal address supposed to be secure, starting with https: ? Also isn't the address window on the internet browser supposed to be a yellow shade, (at least in internet Explorer,) indicating it is a secure site, when the address is in it?

Fuckin hell, got 2 more already, each time with a different link.

Not really that new and as they say its defetead by the proper practice of not clicking on email links.

Ofcourse they can still get you even if you type manually the adress but only if they modified your host file wich means you're rooted and screwed anyway.
