Hi, i live in san jose, california, US and i just have a question about where can i get the Mr. Hobby super gloss clear (either online or locally)? I am asking this because i know that US customs won't allow paints to come in so i am having trouble trying to get them from either japan or UK. Also can anyone tell me where can i get the paper for printing decals? thanks a lot!

actually Mr.Hobby is availiable in US. The distributor Stevens International (New Jersey) carries there line as well as others im sure so ask your local Hobby Shop if they use them and tell them to order you some.

Yeah, the Gunze stuff is locally available here in Houston. You can also order from places like Best1Hobby.

As for decal papers, just google search by "water slide decal paper", or find it locally at railroad model stores.

Hi all, thanks for the reply. I have another question though..so I went on Best1hobby.com and I found they are selling different types of super clear gloss (for the spray). I am just wondering which one would be best for the best shine? They have the super clear gloss, semi clear gloss, and then the super clear gloss UV-cut (which is a dollar more). Did anyone use these products before? thanks

I'm guessing that you are talking about the Gunze line. If you keep your models out of sunlight, then your answer would be the B513 super clear gloss.
If your models are in constant sunlight and you are scared that the color may change (paint and decals) then UV-cut is suggested. One note though, the Uv-cut has this white-ish pigment which settles.. my LHS owner told me that the pigment that settles is what protects your 'victim' from UV rays. So, be sure to mix well. It's supposed to 'disappear' once thinned and mixed. I've bought the stuff but have yet to try.

Hi guys thanks for the reply! I have a question about clear but it's kinda off topic though. I am planning to apply bare metal foil onto my model, should i do that before i clear? or after? just want to make sure...thanks

If you clear it it will lose a bit of a shine, BMF is so good that you can apply it after clear coat with no problem at all, it will even stick better, I always do like that.
It is only up to you, you can do it either way.
