What I meant on the receiver-drier is it is called an accumulator on the Grand Prix.
Is this a GM dealer? Parts is high for just the condensor which is that thing that looks like a small radiator located in front of the radiator.

Here is how I work Wylie. I do business with a lot of general mechanics and speed shops. I would ask for a better price on the condensor if it is that far off the GM List price. Also, make sure it is a GM part if he is going to charge you top dollar. There are aftermarket condensors so make sure you are not getting one of them for the same cost of one at a GM dealer.
We're hanging in there Wylie. Rain for 3 days straight. Finally monsoon season. My grass is getting real green. :bigthumb:

Ouch! Everything is your neck of the woods is near double of what I pay here.
As as long you are happy that is all that matters.
GM Condensor - $160.00
A/C Labor - $100.00
Shop Use/Supplies - $25.00
Total = $285.00 plus state sales tax.
Now you see why I can maintain 4 cars.
Have a nice cool day Wylie.

You do not need the radio to enjoy that high priced cool air.:grinyes:
You might look threw the owners manual and papers and see if they wrote down the raido unlock code.
Also run a search on it. There is some post here on it.
A good dealer will unlock it for a small fee.
Good luck with the cold air.

I hear you on that MT. I've run into the same in other "W" body forums especially on the 4T65E tranny and UIM/LIM jobs from Canadian AF members.
Man, just look at what they are paying for gasoline up there compared to us.
And Wylie went to a privateer and look what he paid. I'm glad I have access to evacuation equipment and all the right HVAC tools needed to do DIY. The post auto craft shop comes in handy.

Any how I did some math for ya,gas here this morning is 108cdn per litre x 4.5459 = $4.91 per gal
$4.91 cdn = $4.33 usd
I tried to find out what you pay in the US but I don't see it any where.

I was going out riding the Honda this weekend but it is too darn muddy. This is the fourth straight day of rain on and off. Raining steady since early this morning. Interesting seeing a green desert.
$2.78 - $2.99 in my area for regular unleaded, depending on whether it is convenience store/Walmart gas or top tier like Chevron/Shell.
Isn't the reason for high gas in Canada due to excess government taxes?
I thought all that sand oil found in Alberta would help out. :dunno:

O ya thats right you just hit a sore spot Fn government.
75% tax on gas.
Over all we pay way to much tax here annually it works out to almost over %50.
Luckily my company pays my gas so it doesn't hurt so bad but I don't know how these low income single moms do it.
At lease the rain is keeping you cool as long as you don't get floods its suppose to rain and cool off a bit here tomorrow.
The oil sands are good I bought some stocks and made a few bucks on it http://www.stockhouse.com/comp_info.asp?symbol=SU&table=list
Bought in at $60 the problem there is it still goes for world market prices they don't give any deals.

In the desert we get big time floods (flash flooding) because the sand/earth gets saturated too soon. The city has gone into emergency operations due to the flooding. I-10 has been shut down.
This is a case of taxation with representation is tyranny. And we in the U.S. complain about taxes.
That sand oil recovery process is amazing. Those humongous trucks they use to haul the stuff to processing plants is something else. I heard you have 800 millions barrels reserve up there. Up there with Saudi Arabia.
Texas billionaire T. Boone Pickens is the biggest investor in Alberta sand oil and got hs fair share of the profits so far.
