Rear hatch motor lock

Hello,
The rear hatch back is not able to close because the mechanism that catches it, is in the down position and won't come back up to catch the hatch back latch.
:P sorry I couldn't explain it any better. Any suggestions would be awesome!

you probly need a new hatch motor, you can get them off ebay.

what i did on my older 88 was open up the motor, bring it up a little, cut the pwoer to the motor..and itll work..but the hatch wont go down as much as its supposed to..
