remotes???

i have a 2000 eclipse gt. the lady i bought it from had an aftermarket alarm installed. she gave me the remotes from the new alarm, but they dont work. im pretty sure that they just have to be programmed but i dont know how. does anyone know how to program remotes?

do the batteries work? are you sure? why would she give you unprogrammed remotes? wouldn't she have been using them??

yea the batteries are good, she actually gave me extras, but theres a red light that goes on when you press the buttons, so i know the batteries are good. and i was wondering the same thing...but she only got the extra alarm because her friend owns a place that does it..so im not sure why they dont, but i would like them to work.

Ask her where this place is that she got the alarm and I'm pretty sure they would program the extra remotes for a very small charge if any. Or maybe you can look up the company that makes the alarm and maybe they have directions online somewhere. I think theres more involved then just hitting a few botton combos on the remote if thats what your wondering.
