1990 Bronco tranny

I have a 1990 full size Bronco with a 351 and an E40D tranny. I have good reverse but when I put it in drive, nothing, I put it in l1 and I feel a tunk. Is there vacum going to this tranny? I was underneath it and had it running and I found a metal tube that was broke off from somewhere that had air coming out of it. Could that be a vacum line busted off the tranny? maybe that is why I cant get any forward gears?
