coolant leak

hi,
i have notice some coolant leak below where the belts and alternator is on my 91 civic. i dun think it leaking from the rad. Some body told me its teh water pump that is leaking. i was wondering if that is true and if i was gonna replace it, wut else do i have to replace.

Sounds like the water pump alright based on location.

Being someone who has experienced the joys of coolant loss from varios parts, I'd suggest replacing all your hoses and thermostat at the same time.

If the pump is going, there's a chance the hoses are getting old - ever seen how fast a raddiator can drain with a pinprick hole in a heater hose etc? Damn fast ;)

Its your water pump. It's located under the timing belt cover. You better get that repaired before your t/blet snaps from the coolant. Replace your belts, water pump, & timing belt when you have the job done. @ my dealer we charge $450. $365 for timing belt only, so it's worth it to do the whole job while your in that area
