Just bought my first Mitsubishi, a 95 eclipse GSX 5spd...and as it turns out I got about 300miles and the clutch fork broke due to a messed up release bearing...
Its in the show i work at (drive tow truck) and I noticed while snooping around that the bearing sleave thing that goes over the input shaft...the part that the throw out bearing is riding on...it is slightly scarred, from i guess the bearing getting cocked or something like that...What I need to know is..will this cause the new bearing/clutch kit im installing to fail prematurely? and if so is that sleave replaceable without taking the whole tranny apart?? Ive ordered a replacement one incase it is replaceable, but time is running out and they want the car OUT cause its holding up a bay :(

I think so long as the scar doesn't have an edges sticking outward it should be fine. So if it does, maybe just take a little piece of sandpaper and sand any edges off it and install your new throwout bearing. At least I think that should be fine for the new throwout bearing...
