ALT. has effect on ABS/TRAC?

Mine is a 97.5 GS. I have SVS/ABS/TRAC lights that come on as soon as i start driving. Had a friend check the connec. to the hubs and checked OHMS. All was good. Battery is about 6 mo. old. Sears top of the line. If my alt. is not charging enough will it set off these lights.. I recently changed the tension pulley and belt and have heard a whining that sounds like its from the alt. I had the whining before the pulley change , but it got louder after. At night i turn on all the lights etc.... I push and hold all 4 windows to try to create a load, or strain, to see if the HL dim. They barely dim.....Also if its related to the ABS. Is there any way i can bleed the ABS module, located on the MC. I see the valves there?

Regalfriend, I would take your Regal to a mechanic that has ABS scan capability. The wheel rotation speed must be checked to see if in tolerance. The ohming out confirms it may be good electrically at the wheel sensor but does mean the mechanical portion (drive assy) within the hub is good. If the conventional braking feels bad or mushy then bleeding is OK but I would not do it at the ABS motorpack/module unless absolutely necessary.

Another possible cause is a defective EBCM module located under the dash. ABS scan should detect these type ABS and CHASSIS codes, if any.

ABS problem fixed. MY front brakes were real low and i replaced pads and rotors. As i pushed the caliper pistons in i used a turkey baster to suck old fluid from the master cyl. and kept adding fresh brake fluid. After brakes were complete, for a few days the lights still came on , but less frequent. Then only the trac light would come on for a day or so. Now the light has'nt been on at all for about a week. Not sure what cured it , but am not complaining now.
