I have a problem with chrome parts that are contained in kits. Because they are molded on trees, when I take one off, I get an uncovered area of plastic. This problem is really bugging me as I'm building a kit molded in yellow. The engine has alot of chrome parts and yellow spots:banghead: I was wondering if any of you had found a solution to this annoying problem. any responce is greatly thanked :)

I use Bare Metal Foil to cover the bare spot. Just make sure to clean the area so it is even and then apply a small patch of BMF chrome over the spot.
You can also use Testors Silver enamel to touch it up or Tamiya Silver Enamel.

Another solution is to strip the chrome and repaint them with Alclad II chrome lacquer.

:1:
but I use Mr. Color's Super Metalic Plate Silver
since I'm really picky... I want the whole peice to look evenly colored.

+2 on Alclad II ;)
I really never liked much of the chrome in the kits anyway. It seemed much too "toy-like" or I ended ruining it through the build-up. :(
I used BMF Chrome for a while, but ever since Alclad II appeared I simply strip the original chrome (oven cleaner or bleach) e re-spray with Alclad.
Cheers,
