head gasket?

I have a 1995 civic dx and I noticed when I first start it up there is some white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. When I push the gas pedal to take off it initially doesn't want to take off. I seem to be low on coolant every few days. The car has about 170k miles on it. Does this sound like a blown head gasket to you guys? Will a new head gasket improve the pick up when I first take off?

Either a blown head gasket or a cracked head/block, but replacing the head gasket should fix the problem.

i would just replace the head gasket.

10-4 on that.
It takes the iffy out of head gasket or no head gasket.
In about 10 minutes.
What it does is picks up ehuast fumes in the coolant that is caused by cracked head or head gasket leakage.
