1991 Dash lights

i have a 1991 grand am le....when i turn on the head lights the dash lights dont come on...and the little switch that turns the dash dimmer to bright are at the highest point....can some one help me with this??? thanks

Is it just the dash lights that arent working, or is it all the other lights, like the radio, heat/ac, dome .... ?
