5th gen tranny problems?

I've heard that the 5th gens have transmission problems. Can you all comment on this? I'm looking at buying one, and want to make sure I'm buying a problem car.

I cant agree with that statement due to I have only seen two fail due to driver error , one in a sentra and one in a maxima both had no reverse

The only problem I know on our 5gen is noisy/lazy front windows - so huge problem that stealership cannot correct it. Luckily silicone on the seals works...

The second 'problem' is a stiff rear axle, some might call it a feature but it keeps me liking the 3gen free suspension.

Thanks for your input. I finally decided on an 01 GXE, and the transmission is really smooth on it. Hopefully I've found a good one.

If anything goes wrong on my car I hope its the tranny. I need an excuse to change it to a 5-speed.
