T3 turbo manifold

hey guys, im really thinkin of purchasing a T3 turbo for my 2.2L OHV 1998 cavalier RS, and was wondering if a turbo manifold would replace my existing exhaust header. I know that the turbo is placed in this vicinity, using exhaust gases to create compressed air, which is then transferred towards the intake assembly... correct? Therefore, ive seen pics of turbo manifolds, and they look like a basic header, with the turbocharger sitting in the created socket... i currently have an OBX performance exhaust header installed, and my engine is N/A right now, with a BOMZ racing short ram intake, etc. The turbo would replace the intake piping as well, but you could essentially re-use the filter and place it on the correct turbine wheel opening, correct?

I am kind of new at forced-induction, but I'm learning alot, I just wish to hear some advice from the experts, which would undoubtedly be around here....

Oh god.... After last night i don't want to look at another turbo manifold for a long time..You have a couple different options. Log style, or Jtuners who makes a long-tube design. I would suggest RDFABS SS exhaust manifold, but the amount of work that sonfa bitch requries, the cost is quite high.

Yes, and then this would replace my OBX Type R racing header, correct? And there would be a pipe from the turbo connecting to the high flow cat or the resonator, whichever comes first... hopefully im getting this correct. i found a log-style, non-exploited...

When you order your flange or gasket to go between the turbo and the exhaust manifold, don't use aluminium. We found that out at 1am in the morning the day of a big car show while bringing a car home from the shop, The exhaust gases melted it and blew the damn thing right apart, only having to work from 1:30-5:45am tearing everything apart in the second picture out, ryan the owner fabing a whole new flange out of 3/4" SS steel.. and puting everything back together. Everything had to come out.... uggh.

It kinda was.. we had to be there at 7:30 am. We found this problem out at 1am. But another factor is, his car is running lean. So were up upping the injectors froom 19lbs stockers out of a 96 grand prix GT 280cc? to 30lbs out of 3800 GTP engine. But we'll see what happens now that were not binded by a time frame.
