Oh man that thing is so awesome man!!! I'd completely go for it. It looks so sexy with that color even.
**EDIT**
I didn't even finish reading your post cause it excited me so much. lol The a/c belt snapping would not be a sign of crankwalk... Common signs of crankwalk are the clutch pedal not returning from the floor and excessive slop in the clutch engagement. Umm I can't really think of any others off the top of my head. It should be fine though since most people experience CW at lower miles on the cars. (20-50k miles) Of course, there are those rare exceptions. (me = 105k miles)

It probably is 6000 with it having 108k miles. I think its definetly worth it though. Check it all over first of course before buying it.

Yeah, definately work that bitch over. There was a silver 97 GSX with an "11 second turbo" and a 6 bolt swap for $6500. Yeah, turned out it had a body kit on the rear and side skirts, ripped up front bumper, p/s fluid and oil all over the place, a 14b with a snapped off manifold to turbo bolt and a snapped off o2 housing to turbo bolt, burned out clutch, and it was burning oil. Fuckin kid...

well he just emailed me back, and heres what he wrote
Lets see let me tell you all, mechanically the car is great, the clutch is a little weak when you try to really launch hard, everyday driving is fine, it just wont hold it for a race type launch, I do have a slightly used act 2900 I was going to put in, I got with the 6bolt I was going to install. The intermittant wipers dont work only low and high. But other than that its all good, ohh and the ac like I listed. I have had no problems in the over 4 yrs I have had it. I have used mobil 1 in it changed every 3-4k miles. Never ran hard, believe it or not it was bought for my wife back then for a daily driver, she wanted an 2g so I said it had to be a gsx incase I ever wanted to build an import. She has a scion now, and I am getting back into bikes so going to sell this. It was owned by a college girl before me and her parents owned a quick lube business so it has always had its oil changed regularly. Never abused, I did take it to the drag strip once about 3yr!
s ago with some friends. It was all stock then so not very impressive. The interior is okay, only thing wrong is the passenger side airbag is starting to warp up, common if you have seen it before
i wounder if it will make the trip to memphis with that clutch?

Clutch should be fine if you drive it easy and normal. My stock clutch was fine for daily driving but couldn't hold at all with even semi powerful launches. Take the 2900 with it if he is giving it to you with the car. Is the 6 bolt included as well? That would be one hell of a steal if it is. hehe

i dont think it is.........................but i will definitely ask :grinyes:
will that clutch he has work?or is it for a 6 bolt only?

It'll work, but it will be an excessive amount of pressure on the crank and could cause future problems with the dreaded CW. Thats pretty much what killed mine was when I upgraded to my 2500... If you do use it just be sure to do the clutch switch disconnect mod and not drop the clutch too much. Its not certain that it will cause it or that those things could prevent it, but it certainly is worth the risk. :grinyes:
