1995 Setup what do you think?

Im debating on buying a 1995 Eagle Talon AWD and heres wut i plan on doign to it as soon as i get the car i have the money all ready aswell
Put in an 18G, k&N air filter, Boost controller, boost guage and high flow down pipe, what do you think my H.P and T.Q will be with that set up also the 1/4 mile and 0-60
Any posts would be awesome

We cannot guess your 1/4 mile times as many other factors are involved such as driving skills. :wink:
Also, you can't just give it bunch of extra air and expect that to be everything it needs. You will also need to suffice its fuel need as well if your going to put a bigger turbo on and bump your boost up a bit.
Take a look at everybodys mod lists and look at how they rounded out their mods in every area of the motor. Its not as simple as everybody likes to think it is.

18g = lag of a 20g, power of an Evo III. If you get a good deal go for it, otherwise get a cheaper turbo.

Like blackcrow said...you can't just put on a bigger turbo and expect it to be ungodly fast for you. you'll need to get bigger injectors as well. also it depends on what PSI you plan on running your turbo at. Once again, like he said, look at everyone else mod list and go from there....if you're still unsure...check out machv.com or dsmtuners.com for parts and prices. If you have any questions on any system on the car, you can check out DSMsupport.com for just about all the information you'll need to work on it. hope it works out for you...

I agree on the statements about the 18g. Look around for a better turbo, unless your getting a good price on this particular turbo.

oh, i almost forgot earlier. there is no way that only with the 18G, air filter, boost gauge and controller and a downpipe will get you 320sih hp and running mid 12s....considering the fact that you would need an exhaust, FMIC, and some sort of engine management system to control all of that....and the fact that the stock motor has 210HP....im guessing that with the mods you listed as well as the ones i just listed...you might be real close if not right at 300....as far as 1/4 mile times....that all depends on how well you drive or dont drive your car....and you might want to put in a clutch....once you get to around 300, your stock clutch will slip like no other and youll start to get pissed.....as far as the turbo...i would go with the garrett t3/t4 hybrid....its a much better turbo than the 18G and theyre about the same price.....

I think Garrett's point wasnt that you didnt have a good setup but that you could have gotten to the same place for cheaper with other products ie dsmlink but maybe not

i know he wasnt putting my car down or anything like that, so plz dont think i was retaliating against his comment.....its just that when i started working on my car i decided that i wanted some of the best upgrades you can get and money was no factor to me at the time....maybe if i was on a budget i would have gone to another place and gotten different parts for cheaper, but like i said, the price of the parts i bought when i bought them was not a factor in modding my dsm

i have pics on my memory card for my digital camera, which unfortunately, is not in my posession at this time....as soon as i get it back ill get some pics up of everything, the only pic i have right now is a pic before i started upgrading it, it only had rims in that pic.....as soon as i can get my camera back ill put them up

I wasn't putting down your car in any means, I was just shocked that everything was brand name. You could have probably saved half of what you paid by going with non-brand name parts and still gotten the same performance or even better. Remember, brand name doesn't always mean the best. None the less, it's a sweet list.
