90-93 celica engine swap

Ok, here is the scoop:
I have an excellent 4afe engine out of my totalled 92 corolla. Me and my parents want to get a convertible celica (90-93) without an engine to put mine into. But we're not sure how easy it would be to put my 1.6L engine into a celica gt(because we would like a convertible) that has a 2.2L engine. Has anyone ever tried this? is it anything that I should even try?

why would you want to put a 105hp engine into a 130hp car? that thing will be slow as molasses. plus the engine mounts wont line up and the engine wont boolt to the 5sfe tranny. your best bet is to find an st model or another corolla or something.

Because i'm not looking for speed and horsepower, but i do want a convertible. I've already got an engine, and transmission for that matter. would it be very difficult to put different engine mounts in, so that this engine and tranny would fit?

no one has really done this swap before so idk what all would be involved.

Ok, thanks anyway, I'll probably just stick to looking for another corolla.

Would my tranny from the corolla line up do you think?
